About our Branch Our aim is to provide a social focal point for all Morris Minor enthusiasts and owners in the North Wiltshire area. We offer friendship, technical advice and guidance (where we can) in a welcoming atmosphere through our regular meetings. All models and conditions of vehicles are part of our club and all loved. It is not important that your car is in immaculate condition, we have them in all conditions! This is a club for those who care about their Minors. |
We are open to all enthusiasts but it is not necessary to bring your car to every meeting or even own a car. Your enthusiasm and energy is all you need. We meet monthly at varied locations throughout the year, so please refer to the events list to find us. We are always looking for new members, of all ages, so don't be shy, make contact and come along to our next meeting. You will be pleasantly surprised. |

MINUTES OF COMMITTEE MEETING TUESDAY 11 JANUARY 2011 Present: Ash, Alex, Dennis, Susie, Julian, Malcolm, Gill & Dave Apologies: Roger, Sarah Firstly Dave thanked Susie and Julian for hosting the committee meeting at their home. Treasurers Report. Dennis told us that as of the 16th of December 2010 the branch had sufficient funds. David asked Dennis if he had changed the account over but Dennis informed us that the bank would not change the account to higher interest rate for a club. Dave told the Committee that on January 27th we, as a club, would attend the 'Mother Goose' Pantomime by the Wootton Bassett Light Operatic Society at the Memorial Hall. Tickets for those who asked to go have been ordered and will be picked up on the night. Next we were told of our February meeting which is on the 10th and will be at the Red Lion in Castle Eaton when we will be entertained by a guest speaker who will talk to us on the Guide Dogs for the Blind. A donation will be given on the night. As we usually donate to a couple of charities at the beginning of the year, it was decided to send £50 to the local branch of the RSPCA. Gill to send a letter and cheque. In March we hope to have a 'Forties' night hosted by Bob Bulson, Claire and Roger Kennison and Naomi. This will be held in Easterton near Devizes. Details to be finalised. On the 17th April - which is Drive It Day - Pam and Ash have agreed to organise a Spring Fun Run for us, ending up at the Red Lion for a meal. Details to follow. Gill & Dave agreed to contact Wroughton Historical Society, to ask if they could help us with a guide on an historical walk around Wroughton in May. Dave told the Committee that after writing to Bowood House asking if we could hold our rally there on June 12th, we had contact with Stuart who said that they would love to see us. 50 spaces will be reserved in the car park and we will get discounts to visit the house. As soon as paperwork is finalised Gill & Dave will send out invitations to Morris owners and also start to advertise it in Minor Matters and elsewhere. It was suggested that we send a personal invitation to the rally to Ray Newell, so that he can see what sort of club we are and what we do. Dave mentioned that it is the time for subscriptions to be collected. Gill had already sent an email to members with a subscription form attached, so hopefully money will be forwarded to the club. Malcolm volunteered to organise everyone from the club to go to St Roses School, Stroud on 8th of May for 'Wheelnuts'. Some trips out were suggested for the summer. Dyrham Park who are hosting sixties car club rallies, Beaulieu Auto Jumble, and Tredegar Rally in Wales. Julian suggested a club calendar for 2012, and Dave said we must get photographs taken throughout the year ready for it, and suggested members get busy with their cameras, hopefully producing about 50 calendars. Next Meeting: Friday 11th March at Red Lion, Castle Eaton at 6.30pm for a meal first then the meeting. Meeting closed at 9pm. |
